SARS is working to become a smart, modern revenue authority with unquestionable integrity, trusted and admired by all. Its mandate is to ensure optimal compliance with tax and Customs legislation, and it does this by encouraging voluntary compliance and making it easier for taxpayers and traders to meet their legal obligations.
Why Join SARS

- Detect taxpayers and traders who do not comply, and make non-compliance hard and costly
- Develop a high performing, diverse, agile and engaged workforce
- Expand and increase the use of data to improve integrity, derive insights and improve outcomes
- Modernise systems to provide digital and streamlined services
- Drive greater resource stewardship to ensure efficient use of resources and quality outcomes
