About the Opportunity
WSP, one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services consulting firms, is looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join its Property & Buildings Electrical Engineering team. This role suits a recent graduate who wants to build technical and professional skills alongside experienced engineers. You will be exposed to electrical building services design, renewable energy solutions, construction monitoring and multidisciplinary project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile engineering calculations, tenders, project proposals, detailed designs and drawings
- Support detailed design, drawings and construction monitoring, including site work as required
- Work on the design of MV electrical systems and LV electrical building services
- Apply knowledge of generators, lighting systems and renewable energy systems
- Work with CCTV, building management, access control, audio visual and ELV systems
- Apply the relevant building and design standards
- Liaise with other engineering departments to deliver coordinated solutions
- Comply with ISO 9001 requirements and maintain quality standards in the drawing office
- Provide technical support to other functions when required
- Promote positive health, safety, environmental and quality behaviours, and support WSP’s Zero Harm goal
Requirements
- BTech degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Registered, or eligible to register, as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA
- South African citizenship
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport for site visits
