Duties & Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineering: Designing trailers and trailer components, overseeing manufacturing processes for new designs, fault-finding and providing solutions, innovating and redesigning trailers, conducting research and development, designing and manufacturing industrial equipment, designing and implementing systems, and preparing bills of materials.
Electrical Engineering: Developing and testing electrical devices and equipment including communication systems, power generators, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems. Providing technical support, electrical design work, drafting electrical drawings, offering internal technical support through site visits and evaluations, fault-finding, maintenance and repair of components, conducting research, designing and installing energy-efficient and alternative energy systems, involvement in CNC machine design and manufacturing, compiling electrical system analysis reports, and managing financial and project reporting requirements.
Mechatronics/Electromechanical Engineering: Programming software in automation, working with PLC systems, providing on-site first-line support and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, optimising system and asset reliability through proactive maintenance strategies, analysing on-site equipment for improvements, engaging in industrial automation and systems integration, providing IT support (Wi-Fi, network, and PC), offering application and database support, and creating CAD drawings.
Civil/Structural Engineering: Planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities, implementing sustainable design principles, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure design compatibility, assisting in evaluating and selecting civil systems and materials, preparing and revising documentation across project phases, preparing bills of materials and cost estimates, managing financial and project reporting requirements, and performing on-site supervision.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- B.Eng or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong time management skills
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to receive training in other provinces
