Eskom is looking for graduate engineers to join its Engineer in Training programme at Kendal Power Station in Mpumalanga. The intake covers 2 Process Engineers (Operations), 4 Control & Instrumentation Engineers, 2 Mechanical Engineers, and 2 Electrical Engineers, giving newly qualified engineers a structured route into one of South Africa’s largest power utilities.
This is a Learning Programme position graded at L7, based in the Engineering department at Kendal Power Station. Successful applicants will go through Eskom’s recruitment process and, once placed, will be assigned across Eskom’s operations divisions depending on their discipline and the organisation’s needs at the time.
What the programme offers
Trainees will receive institutionalised and on-the-job training designed to build the practical engineering competence needed to operate and maintain a coal-fired power station environment. This includes exposure to real plant systems, mentorship from experienced engineers, and the chance to develop a career within Eskom’s Generation division.
Minimum requirements
- A fully completed engineering degree (B Eng or BSc Eng) in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Control & Instrumentation engineering
- South African citizenship is required
