The Opportunity
Abbott Core Diagnostics is looking for a Service Engineer Intern to join its Johannesburg team.
Abbott’s diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics worldwide, giving healthcare professionals the critical information they need to diagnose and monitor hundreds of medical conditions.
As a Service Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of advanced diagnostic instruments, working alongside experienced field service professionals.
What You Will Learn
- Perform system installations, repairs, and servicing at customer sites
- Support major product upgrades on diagnostic systems
- Provide technical troubleshooting and service support
- Assist customers with basic operational and troubleshooting guidance
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent customer support
- Deliver proactive maintenance and service interventions
- Develop technical expertise on Abbott diagnostic instruments and technologies
Minimum Requirements
You must have completed (not currently studying) a National Diploma or Degree in one of the following:
- Electrical Engineering
- Clinical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
In addition, you must:
- Hold a valid driver’s licence, and ideally have reliable daily access to your own vehicle
- Reside in Gauteng and be willing to travel within surrounding areas
- Be available to start immediately
