Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age
- Have obtained a National Senior Certificate with a minimum of 60% in all subjects
- Intend to study towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
- For Engineering studies, have achieved a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and Physical Science
- Be studying or intending to study full-time at a recognised public institution of higher learning
If you’re already at university, you’ll also need to:
- Have achieved an average of 60% or higher in all major modules
- Submit your latest academic results
- Provide proof of current registration or enrolment
Grade 12 learners are strongly encouraged to apply. Since many universities only confirm admission after final matric results are released, applicants without a provisional university acceptance letter can still apply by submitting proof of their university application.
