Shift Pursuit Pty Ltd is recruiting a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Cape Town, starting January 2027. This is a strong opportunity for a young, dynamic engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience across commercial, retail, industrial and residential projects, both locally and internationally.
About the Role
The successful candidate will join an experienced engineering team and be exposed to a wide range of building services projects. This role offers structured professional training and development, giving graduates the chance to build a solid technical foundation while working alongside qualified engineers on real, large-scale projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical and electronic engineering design for large-scale building projects
- Gain exposure to MV/LV electrical installations, generators, UPS systems, PV, lighting and small power
- Work on access control, CCTV and data network design
- Analyse building plans and ensure designs comply with relevant regulations and codes
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and project teams to develop effective engineering solutions
- Contribute to multiple projects across commercial, retail, residential, hospitality and industrial sectors
Project Exposure
Graduates will be exposed to a diverse project portfolio, including large retail shopping centres, commercial office buildings, high-rise residential developments, hotels and housing developments, luxury residential homes, industrial distribution centres and factories, as well as national and international projects.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc or BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Graduate-level candidate with a strong interest in building services engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong professional communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
