  • Engineer in Training – Electrical
  • Engineer in Training – Mechanical

Overall Purpose of the Job

The successful candidates will support the Distribution Transformers division across design, testing, and quality functions, gaining hands-on exposure to real engineering projects from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing project requirements
  • Measuring the performance of mechanical components and devices
  • Using computer-aided design and modelling software, including Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Liaising with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers on technical issues
  • Undertaking relevant research
  • Presenting designs and ideas to managers and clients
  • Testing, evaluating, modifying, and re-testing products
  • Writing monthly progress reports, manuals, and other documentation
  • Analysing and interpreting complex data
  • Formulating and presenting internal technical courses
  • Working towards professional registration with ECSA

SHERQ Management (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)

  • Adhering to the requirements of the SHEQ Management System, including relevant legislation, policies, procedures, work instructions, and specifications
  • Ensuring Quality Assurance is upheld in every aspect, particularly documentation control
  • Ensuring compliance with all standards for Safety, Environment, Work Procedures, and Quality
  • Implementing methods and procedures for the disposition of discrepant material and defective or damaged parts, and assessing cost and responsibility
  • Supporting the Assurance and Quality Control systems adopted by Distribution Transformers

Qualifications

  • BSc or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering (for the Electrical position)
  • Relevant mechanical engineering degree (for the Mechanical position)

Experience

  • No prior work experience required
  • High level of computer literacy essential

General
