iX engineers (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their team in Pretoria Gardens. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent electrical engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience across power generation, distribution, and control systems while working alongside experienced engineers on real project delivery.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluations of electrical components and systems
- Support senior engineers in preparing electrical designs, specifications, and technical documentation
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and project reviews to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
- Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, calculations, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and contractors
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients when required
- Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and environmental regulations throughout project execution
Education & Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Advantageous
- Internship experience in electrical engineering or related projects
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and smart grid technologies
Skills & Knowledge
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, electrical circuits, control systems, and power generation and distribution systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints
- Knowledge of electrical safety codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, and OSHA
Software Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ETAP, MATLAB, and other electrical design and analysis tools
