Closing date: 05 October 2027

About the Opportunity

Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) is offering 120 bursaries to candidates who want to start a career in air traffic services. The programme is open to aspiring aviation professionals who are ready to take their first step into a demanding and rewarding field.

Air traffic controllers keep aircraft moving safely through South African airspace. It is a career built on focus, accuracy, and sound decision-making under pressure, and this bursary is the entry point.

Programme Overview

ATNS will host a total of four bursary intakes for the 2027/28 financial year. Each successful candidate will study at the Aviation Training Academy in Bonaero Park, Gauteng, over a 12-month period.

Placement of successful trainees after the programme will be in line with the operational requirements of ATNS. This means placement depends on where the organisation needs controllers at the time.

I removed a line from the earlier version saying ATNS charges no application fee, because the flyer doesn’t state that.
