These positions are designed for graduates and diploma holders with little to no work experience who want to build a career within South Africa’s electricity, energy, and water supply sector. All positions are internships offering institutionalised, on-the-job training, with market-related remuneration.
Available Positions
Graduate in Training: Asset Performance & Management (x2)
Location: Sunninghill. Requires a fully completed B Degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering. Based in the Office of the GE, Asset Performance & Management department.
Graduate in Training: Programme Management (x5)
Location: Sunninghill. Requires a fully completed B Degree, B Tech, or Advanced Diploma (NQF7, 360 credits) in Project Management, Risk Management, Quantity Surveying, or a Technical field. Based at Megawatt Park.
Graduate in Training: Environmental Management (x3)
Location: Sunninghill. Requires a fully completed B Degree, B Tech, or Advanced Diploma (NQF7, 360 credits) in Natural Sciences or Environmental Management. Based at Megawatt Park.
Technician in Training: Projects (x2) — Lethabo Power Station
Location: Deneysville, Free State. Requires a fully completed S4/S5 or Diploma in Built Environment, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management.

- Relevant completed qualification as specified per position
Skills and Competencies
Candidates across all these programmes should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound negotiation and liaising ability, and the professionalism, integrity, and trustworthiness Eskom expects of its people. A collaborative, customer-focused mindset is essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. For the Asset Performance & Management role specifically, computer literacy and accuracy are also required. Leadership qualities such as being a strong team player, motivating others, coaching, mentoring, and supporting development will stand candidates in good stead as they grow within these programmes.
