Eskom is offering two Learner Technician positions (1 Mechanical, 1 Electrical) at Kendal Power Station in Mpumalanga. This is an internship-based learning programme offering institutionalised, on-the-job training within Eskom’s Operations division.
Successful candidates will be placed across Eskom’s various operational divisions following the recruitment process. The programme is designed to develop technically skilled candidates through structured workplace exposure, combining theoretical grounding with practical, hands-on training.

Key responsibilities
Learner Technicians will receive institutionalised and on-the-job training, working alongside experienced technical staff to build practical competence in their chosen discipline (Mechanical or Electrical).
Minimum requirements
- Fully completed S4 / S5 / Diploma (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Must be a South African citizen
Skills and attributes required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation and liaising ability, professionalism, integrity, and a customer-focused approach are essential. Candidates should be energetic self-starters who are assertive, prompt, and polite, with sound knowledge of workplace policies and procedures expected to develop through the programme.
